Something About Mary
I
received my Master’s of Science from the Tri-State College of
Acupuncture in New York City, and am licensed to practice acupuncture
in New York State.
I specialize in Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), a style of acupuncture
that combines classical oriental theory with modern trigger point release therapy. It is a potent style that
is capable of treating a great range of conditions, and generally requires
less treatment than more common styles.
According to
APM theory, a patient’s lifelong experience of illness and stress
creates a pattern of tangible physical constriction on the
body -- or as Dr. Janet Travell put it, "life is repetitive strain." As
an APM practitioner, my most essential goal in treatment is
to locate and release such blockages to restore the body’s inherent
ability to heal itself.
I
specialize in treating musculoskeletal pain, and am particularly interested in women's health, postpartum care, and stress-relief.
